Generous
Support Helps Build new non-profit Facilities
Above
Left, in 2001 Julie & Rich Carpenter envisioned the old Christmas
tree farm would make the perfect Hearts for Horses facility. Center,
Rich and neighbor Rich E. put in hundreds of hours clearing and
leveling the pad. By 2004, several years of generous donations
of time, money and materials, combined with adoption fees, enabled
Hearts for Horses to build an 8-stall mare motel
and corrals to house residents for re-training.
Hearts
for Horses History & Outlook
In
2001 Julie and Rich Carpenter founded Hearts For Horses,
a rescue, rehab and educational non-profit at Miracle Mountain
Ranch in Jackson, CA. Since then they have helped 18 horses.
Julie,
has educated the public in the joys and responsibilities of horse
ownership for more than 14 years. Her “Horsemanship From the Heart”
approach teaches people to understand and communicate from their
horses’ point of view. Now they are helping more horses with Hearts
for Horses.
Over
the years, Julie and Rich have been involved in horse rescue organizations
and have helped save many horses from mistreatment or death. Hearts
for Horses, a nonprofit corporation, is a natural continuation
of their desire to bring out the best in horses and people by
teaching both how to create harmonious horse-human relationship
Hearts
for Horses focuses on improving the lives of horses in
need by providing loving care and gentle retraining. The final
step is matching them with people looking for an equine friend
and partner.
Hearts
for Horses ensures that each home remains safe and happy
by doing site visits on a regular basis. If an adoptive owner
mistreats a horse, they will lose custody. If a partnership is
just not a good match, a re-match will be made. All Hearts
for Horses income is reinvested to support and retrain
rescued/donated horses, to help more horses, and to educate more
people.
